Stamp, Edward
1928-1986 A British-born accounting academic. A naturalized Canadian, Professor Stamp taught at universities in New Zealand, Scotland, and England. A reformist by nature, one commentator has written that Stamp is remembered "less for the originality of his ideas than for his robust campaigns to raise standards of corporate reporting, auditing, and open administration" (Mumford, 1994, 274). Stamp authored several books, including a coauthored study of the need for international *auditing standards (Stamp and Moonitz, 1978).
