boilerplate
Standardized language used in *audit reports, legal contracts, and other documents. Boilerplate language is often used to minimize legal *risks. The term is frequently used in a pejorative sense to indicate the allegedly unimaginative, uninformative, and cliched content of external auditors’ reports and corporate statements on *internal control and *risk management.
