A European *corporate governance body. The ECGI is based in Brussels, Belgium, and was launched in 2002 as successor to the European Corporate Governance Network. Its primary objective, as stated on its Web site, is "to undertake and disseminate impartial and objective research on corporate governance and undertake any other activity that will improve understanding and exercise of the highest standards in corporate governance." The ECGI cooperates with other institutions in the field, like the *Global Corporate Governance Forum and the *International Corporate Governance Network. Web site: www.ecgi.org
