Kenya’s main professional accounting and external auditing organization. Established in 1977 from pre-existing professional bodies dating back to the British colonial period, the ICPAK adopted the U.S. terminology of *Certified Public Accountant rather than the United Kingdom’s *chartered accountant designation. The ICPAK is headquartered in Nairobi, and it had approximately 2,300 members in 2003. It is Kenya’s leading professional organization for both accounting and external auditing.
